Not a lookup box.

Most PIN code sites return a single row from a database. pincode.fyi treats each PIN as a node in a graph — where it sits, what it touches, which offices serve it, how it relates to the PINs around it, and where every fact came from.

The data model is being built to support neighbouring-PIN traversal, administrative hierarchy (state → district → taluk → PIN), post office metadata, infrastructure layers (rail, highway, river crossings), and full source provenance so you can tell official data from derived or community-contributed data.

What each PIN will carry.

Post offices
Name, type (HO/SO/BO), delivery status, parent office, and the hierarchy chain up to the circle office.

Admin regions
State, district, taluk / tehsil, and the legislative constituencies each PIN falls in.
Infrastructure
Railway stations, national highways, and river crossings that intersect the PIN area.
Provenance
Every fact tagged: official (India Post / Census), derived (computed from geometry), or community. Versioned, attributable.
